Many Traditional Catholics, particularly since the advent of Jorge Bergoglio, have wondered how it is possible to pray “in union with” known heretics — be they “declared” or otherwise. But Catholics don’t make decisions based on feelings; They base them on Church teaching and precedent.

In this episode Father Anthony Cekada walks through what the “una cum” (“together with our pope”) prayer is and why it is in the Canon, why we can not “opt out,”  remain silent, or “withhold consent” during that portion of the Mass, and the implications for naming a notorious heretic/apostate in that part of the Mass.

If you are struggling with this issue or have never heard of it before, this is an episode that is well worth a listen. We never expect to “settle” a matter on Trad Controversies, but we do hope to put out some important points of reflection so that the Catholic of good will can go on to research and pray on his/her own to come to proper conclusions.

Batacchi Marcella e Spitz Jolanda: 17 anni, di Firenze. Assegnate al Distretto militare di Cuneo altre 7 ausiliarie, il 30 aprile 1945, con tutto il Distretto di Cuneo, pochi ufficiali, 20 soldati e 9 ausiliarie, si mettono in movimento per raggiungere il Nord, secondo gli ordini ricevuti. La colonna è però costretta ad arrendersi nel Biellese ai partigiani del comunista Moranino. Interrogate, sette ausiliarie, ascoltando il suggerimento dei propri ufficiali, dichiarano di essere prostitute che hanno lasciato la casa di tolleranza di Cuneo per seguire i soldati. Ma Marcella e Jolanda non accettano e si dichiarano con fierezza ausiliarie della RSI. I partigiani tentano allora di violentarle, ma le due ragazze resistono con le unghie e con i denti. Costrette con la forza più brutale, vengono violentate numerose volte. In fin di vita chiedono un prete. Il prete viene chiamato ma gli è impedito di avvicinare le ragazze. Prima di cadere sotto il plotone di esecuzione, sfigurate dalle botte di quelle belve indegne di chiamarsi partigiani, mormorano: “Mamma” e “Gesù”. Quando furono esumate, presentavano il volto tumefatto e sfigurato, ma il corpo bianco e intatto. Erano state sepolte nella stessa fossa, l’una sopra l’altra. Era il 3 maggio 1945.

Biamonti Angela: Assassinata il 15 maggio 1945 a Zinola (SV) assieme ai genitori e alla domestica.
Bianchi Annamaria: Assassinata a Pizzo di Cernobbio (CO) il 4 luglio 1945.
Bonatti Silvana: Assassinata a Genova il 29 aprile 1945.
Brazzoli Vincenza: Assassinata a Milano il 28 aprile 1945.
Bressanini Orsola: Madre di una giovane fascista caduta durante la guerra civile, assassinata a Milano il 10 maggio 1945.

Can’t Attend? Watch Live over Internet!

Once again, St. Gertrude the Great Church, West Chester, Ohio, will be simulcasting its Holy Week services (pre-’55 rite) live over the internet. If you can’t assist at services in person, this is an opportunity for you to do so using the proverbial “wonders of modern technology.”

Assist at the somber evening Offices of Tenebrae, the Solemn Maundy Thursday Mass, the Mandatum (Washing of the Feet), and the Good Friday Mass of the Presanctified.

Cazzullo ha consolidato un genere letterario che oggi va per la maggiore, il filone stupito. Come è noto, stupido è la variante popolardialettale di stupito, volendo indicare colui che ormai in età adulta, e magari in posizioni di responsabilità, si stupisce di ogni cosa, anche rivedendola mille volte. Senza memoria, senso di sé, degli altri e del suolo dove cammina, colui, poiché sempre stupito, è il solito stupido. Il genere stupido, da tempo inaugurato, nella versione ri(d)otta come in quella del suo labrador nova (de biase), aveva il pregio di poter contare sul delivery di contenuti terzi, in genere americani, forniti in remoto dai soliti provider (grazie a un attacco usb cerebrale degno di Matrix). Anche qui il genere poi si è arricchito di sottoproliferazioni, come lo stupido in casa d’altri, che racconta ai medesimi provider di sopra quanto siano stupidi i suoi compatrioti, quasi a supplichevole richiesta di sempre nuovi contenuti allogeni. Il dramma dello stupido e dei suoi fratelli, di cui all’inizio, esplode quando si voglia trattare di temi che ai provider non interessano, come per esempio la guerra dei nostri nonni. Nelle pagine stupite, non c’è traccia di guerre, di nonni e di patria, cose di cui lo stupido non ha memoria e di cui nessuno si è preso la briga di riferirgli nell’orecchio mille volte al dì.

On the 3rd anniversary of the establishment of Restoration Radio we welcome back Father Anthony Cekada to discuss the recent episcopal consecration of Jean-Michel Faure by His Excellency Bishop Richard Williamson. The new bishop was a classmate of Father Cekada’s and was in his graduating class of ordinands. While Father Cekada shares some personal insights into this new bishop, he goes into the action taken and how it is situated within Church law and teaching.

Father also discussed the reactions of the SSPX, the Vatican, and various other media outlets while offering his own thoughts as to the significance of this action.

Stephen Heiner is the host for this program which is provided free of charge by the Network in commemoration of its 3rd anniversary of existence. It was intentionally started on a major feast of Our Lady and we always thank her for her watchfulness over our apostolate.
